There are two primary Greek words that describe Scripture which are translated word in the New Testament. The first, logos, refers principally to the total inspired Word of God and to Jesus Christ. He is the living Logos.
The second primary Greek word that describes Scripture is rhema, which refers to a word that is spoken by God and means “an utterance.” A rhema is a verse or portion of Scripture that the Holy Spirit brings to our attention with application to a current situation or need for direction, a "right now" spoken word from God.
The tetrahedron is similar to a pyramid. But unlike a pyramid which has four sides the tetrahedron has three sides. God inspired a tetrahedron to represent the Trinity: the Father (God over us), the Son (God with us), and the Holy Spirit (God in us).
The Cross is a representation of our salvation. It is, by the life of Jesus Christ sacrificed on the cross, that we are saved. We believe in the word of God as Paul wrote in 1 Corinthians 2:2, "For I determined not to know anything among you, save Jesus Christ and him crucified."
The Bible is the foundation of our lives. It is the inerrant word of God and therefore the basis for what we believe about our faith. It is where we find what the will of God is for our lives. Why an open Bible? Because we dedicate ourselves to becoming closer to God through the reading of His word, observing what it says, interpreting His meaning, and rightly applying it in our daily lives.
Psalm 37:4 "Delight thyself also in the Lord: and he shall give thee the desires of thine heart", our inspiration verse provides our motto given in prayer and meditation to our pastor, "Living in Excellence, We Walk in Expectation".
